Thorildhøj, also written as Thorildhoj and in English/Anglish Thorild Heights (pronounced toːʀɪɭsːɦøj / tor-il-høi) is the third most populated region by lore of the Thorildsby Project. It's capitol, Thorildsby, is the first settlement of the Thorildsby Project and therefore the region has been developed for a long time. Thorildhøj borders Årania in the south and Pantokyst in the west. Thorildhøj's administrative language is Thorildsk, which originated there and is closely related to Åranian. The region's name translates to "Thorildian Heights" referring to the elevation changes and the first ruler of this region, Thorild I. The name Thorildsby also derives from him. Thorildsby, Grantorvet and Tungsolne are the biggest cities in Thorildhøj.
Culture
Thorildhøj is a uniquely non-patriotic region of the Commonwealth, even though it has never caused any wars or conflicts, unlike Høvemark. This means that practicing culture is usually only done on governmental buildings but isn't seen as positive or negative by the general public. An exception to this is the Venhedskvartier in Thorildsby.
Thorildhøj also sees a massive influence of culture by Årania, its southern neighbour. There are multiple reasons to that, firstly the fact that Thorildhøj helped Årania to protect itself from the Lanborg Empire during the War of Dignity. Another reason is that during the War of Dignity, many Åranians fled to the peaceful country. After the independence of Årania from the Lanborg Empire, many Åranians moved to Thorildhøj because their relatives built sucessful lives in the richer country. The country's economy to this day is an important reason why many Åranians (and people of other nations) move to Thorildhøj.
This cultural influence is also able to be seen in politics: The Thorildhøj Parliament has a minority party in the reigning coalition dedicated to protecting and including Åranians in everyday Thorildhøj life. Åranians practice their culture more often than Thorildhøjans, making Åranian-Thorildhøj flags a common sight.
The Commonwealth Chamber of Cultural Heritage is tasked with preserving the country's cultural and natural heritage and overseeing its development. The FYNesco list contains 13 structures protected in Thorildhøj.
Cuisine
The cuisine of Thorildhøj is considered very poor with the climate not allowing for agriculture like in warmer regions. This is why the cuisine is shaped by meat gathered through hunting and berries and apples, as these fruits grow flawlessly in the country.
Thorildhøjan cities are especially famous for their Cafés offering pastries and other baked goods as well as famous Thorildhøj tradition of drinking coffee.
Notable examples include Smørrebrød, Spandauer, chocolate and golden berries, Apple pie and Honeyed Apples.
Thorildhøj however isn't poor in drinking culture, as Apple Cider is a world-famous Thorildhøjan drink with 0%-15% alcohol. Suðuáttbjór is traditional Grantorvet-Ale with the recipe being a heavily modified Lanborg-Ale, pointing out the colonial past of the city. Rarely, alcohol is added to coffee and consumed.
Holidays
The Duatlon is an annual race starting from the Thorildhøj exclave of Kavenø in Åranvik, then swimming to different parts of the Åranian city and consuming a cod filet before passing on the torch to your partner. They run next to the tram tracks all the way back to Kavenø and consumes one cup of Coffee with a Spandauer. This festival is to show off the relationship with Årania, as Kavenø is Thorildsby's exclave and shares the same traditions.
Opera
The biggest Opera house in Thorildhøj is located in Thorildsby, Legeplads. The most popular operas include Blodregn (Blood rain) and Pink Future, being exclusive to Thorildsby
Stereotypes
Thorildhøjans are usually regarded as closed in and overspending money, as Thorildsby is considered to be a city with very high housing prices. Because of the help in the War of Dignity on the side of Årania, they are also seen as some of the most loyal friends. Especially Thorildsbyans are famous for their love to cycling and coffee.

Transport
The main means of transportation is rail, the Letbane and Hiking. The Letbane connects the two biggest cities: Thorildsby and Grantorvet, whereas there are international rail lines to Pantoborg, Åranvik and Lanborg. However, the small Thorildsby C station is seen as the biggest bottleneck of Unified Railways.
Hiking is well established, especially in Dalen and Lyserød Parken. Hiking popularity has been declining with the opening of new rail lines.
Inside of the cities, walking is the most popular. In Thorildsby exclusively, the Letbane is seen as an in-city transportation method. Thorildsby has long been famous for its many cyclists, as the streets only feature 90-degree turns and the city core is mostly flat.
Economy

Mining
Thorildhøj has long been an important exporter of mining goods, such as deepslate. However, after the creation of the Commonwealth people have been focusing on embodying traditional building styles, which are often not made of deepslate. So the mining industry has been steadily declining afer 0Ð, the creation of the Commonwealth. To point out the deepslate overproduction, the building of the UC in Thorildsby is made purely out of deepslate parts overproduced by mining agencies, which is a great problem in Thorildhøj.
Fishing
Just like mining, fishing has been an important industry for Thorildhøj. Thorildhøj's importance in the fish industry is still present, allthough fish is usually consumed less. The fishing industry has also been declinging, however much slower than the mining industry.
Tourism
Thorildhøj's third most important industry is the tourist sector, as Thorildsby is one of the most visited cities in the world. Tourism has risen by 170% of the original 100% before the Thorildsby Reparations, so the tourist sector is largely new to Thorildhøj.
