Thorildsby (pronounced toːʀɪɭsbi / tor-ils-bi) is the second biggest city in the Thorildsby Project (after Lanborg), spanning about 300m from north to south and 190m from east to west. It is the biggest settlement in Thorildhøj. Their people speak "Thorildsk" (Danish) and the city even has a website for toursits: Visit-Thorildsby (discontinued)
History
Construction
Thorildsby is the biggest and first city to ever be built. It was started by Fyndrix and Kat while trying to test the new Create Mod features, which explains its proximity to 0;0. The first ever street was First Way (Først Vej), with similar buildings to Nyhavn, which were built by Fyndrix as an experiment. Later, this became a flagship Thorildsby building style. The first house ever built, now has a FYNesco plaque. After the colourful Nyhavn matching district was finished, construction began on Legeplads or Fabrikken, a modern quarter of the city [1]. It has recieved multiple prizes for creativity, efficient space use and sustainability, making it the first modern district ever. At the same time, Kat proposed and idea for a dark district, Mørkby. It only consists of deepslate bricks and limestone pillars, giving great contrast to Thorildsby's colourful buildings. Simultaniously the Friendship District, the Kontorkvartier and the Old Town Thorildsby were built. This concludes that 90% of all buildings were built by Fyndrix.
Corruption of 7th January
On the 7th January 2024, after Fyndrix tried to update Oculus' version to the newest, all create mod items in loaded chunks got removed. That was an easy fix for him, as he was on straight tracks from Thorildsby to Lanborg. Sadly, a part of Thorildsby is in spawn chunks and is always loaded, causing the pillars in Mørkby as well as tram tracks to be deleted. The shocking realisation happened during a lifestream, which is now private. The fix of the corruption took about two weeks and encouraged backups do be created more often in case another tragedy happens.
Return to Thorildsby
After Fyndrix and Kat moved on to new cities like Åranvik (Blåflod) a lot of time and experience passed. After having expanded Åranvik (Blåflod) enough to deserve a break, Fyndrix noticed how much better he got at building and wanted to upgrade Thorildsby's streets and buildings to the new era. This is how the Great Reparation of Thorildsby was born. The reparations added many Azalea trees, greenery and mixed pavement to Thorildsby. After the reparation had begun in October of 2024, many businesses, such as Cafes and art shops were added to Thorildsby.
Today
"Thorildsby is finished to 90%", says Fyndrix, owner and representative of the server, "unique businesses are opened often in Thorildsby because there is not a lot of other things to build. As the reparations inside Thorildsby are also finished, we move onto projects in the metropolitain area of Thorildsby, for example the Light Rail Thorildsby to Dalen route that was just reparated."
Culture
Cuisine
Famous cuisine from Thorildsby includes: Spandauer(blue and red); sweet, chocolate and golden berries and Apple Pie and Honeyed Apple. Thorildsbynians usually didn't drink beer, wine or raw alcohol, instead they drink Apple Cider, a very popular drink ranging from 0% to 15% alcohol. Nowadays, on rare ocassions, Suðuáttbjór from Grantorvet is counsumed.
Opera
Thorildsby has an Opera in Legeplads, allowing for foreigners to experience Thorildsby's famous operas such as Blodregn (Blood rain) and Pink Future.
Stereotypes
Thorildsbynians are famous for overpaying for everything and being very closed in. Anything out of the ordinary scares them. Because of the help in the liberation of Årania, they are also seen as the most loyal friends one could have.
Additionally, they are seen as obsessed with coffee and bicycles.
Architecture
Thorildsby's historic core consists of very many different building styles and materials, ranging from pure wood to deepslate and terracotta. To learn more about architecture, look at the districts section.
Transport
Thorildsby has a tram, called the Light Rail Thorildsby or Letbane which features three lines reaching Grantorvet, Dalen and Grønbjerg. From the FYNesco-protected Thorildsby C there also is a regional train from Thorildsby to Åranvik (Blåflod) and Pantoborg. From the same place a high-speed X-Trains that goes to Lanborg exists. Walking in western Thorildsby is very easy, as there are big hills or big crossings. Western Thorildsby (Legeplads) is seperated from the historic core by a wall, making transportation a problem there.

Tue Olesen
Tue Olesen (-106Ð - 61Ð) was a musician, mainly making Swing-style music. He was the biggest musician before the War of Dignity era, in the -80Ðs until -67Ð. Swing music is considered to have originated by Åranian farmers, as street performance was very widespred and almost everyone knew how to play a music instrument. This is seen in Tue Olesen's choice of instruments, using Åranian instruments and pipes, as his father moved from Lyvan to Thorildsby. Tue Olesen and his mother were both born in Thorildsby. His style of music lost interest in the late -60Ðs due to Einar, king of Lanborg banning Swing music in the Lanborg Empire, account for more than half of his listeners. The ban is due to the connection between Åranian farmers and Einar causing a genocide against them.
With a broken connection to his father's culture Tue Olesen was proud of, he fell into a state of depression which caused psychosomatic diseases leading to his death while only 45Ð old. According to his personal doctor, he was in perfect physical condition, allowing him to live for more than 30Ð.
Sister City
Thorildsby's only sister city is Åranvik in Årania. These two cities have been closely tied together by history, for example, Thorildsby helped Åranvik during its fight for independence, even having established a colony, Kavenø.
