Cuisine of Lanborg
By Cuisine of Lanborg, the cuisine of the region of Hófasviði is meant, which historically was part of the Lanborg Empire.
Lanborgian cuisine is difficult to describe, as it includes a wide range of foods. The cuisine is famous for its use of Høvemark peppers, the national Lanborgian plant, but sun-intense vegetables are also present. This is due to the land of Høvemark being arable warm climates and the country has lots of sunshine hours. The cuisine is also known for its fruity dishes and stews.
It is considered one of the richest cuisines of the world, as historically seen, Lanborg was a trading hub where people of many cultures came together just as came a wide variety of ingredients and the chefs that impressed the monarch would get a massive bonus.
Savoury Dishes

Heitare (Steamed Peppers)
Heitare are steamed peppers which are then cooked with meat. The meat is cooked for 12 hours, as historically, Kalkduians wanted to take revenge on Einar for the genocide he caused (see War of Dignity). As the heat doesn't transfer well through the pepper, the dish can stay warm for a long time and is served with cold sour cream.
It can be found in almost every Lanborgian restaurant and is a vital example of Lanborgian cuisine and to this day is a symbol of resistence against the Einar and the War of Dignity.

Gúlás (Goulash)
Lanborg is also known for its goulash, made of its regions peppers, beef and normal bell peppers. Depending on the variant, boiled potato or rice is added. As the Goulash is mostly liquid, a piece of toasted Lanborgian long bread is added, sometimes with sour cream. The dish is eaten with a spoon, two forks (if bread is added) and a knife (if potatoes are added).
The dish has been praised multiple times by food critics as a very tasteful, yet affordable dish of the region as "The intense flavour of the bell pepper broth goes well with the beef", Commonwealth Food Critics report, 19Ð.
The dish can be found in Lanborgian restaurants around the world, but is even more common in Lanborg. As Lanborgians enjoy alcohol, very rarely a small amount of alcohol is added.
Make sure to ask your local restaurant waiter for more information regarding the alcohol content in your food
Ouskal (Meat with gravy)
Ouskal is a dish from Lanborg involving gravy, meat and gnocchi. It is related to Bola Tomata from east Lanborg, which is the same dish but using a tomato sauce instead of the gravy. The dish is eaten at a warm temperature with a fork and a knife. It can be enjoyed at many traditional Lanborgian restaurants and has seen street food adaptations in locations with high rates of tourism, such as the Old Town and the Castle.
The dish in -110Ð originated from Bola Tomata from eastern Lanborg, when the king of the Lanborg Empire preffered gravy over tomatoes. Gravy for a long time was more expensive than tomatoes, so the dish was considered exclusively availible only to the upper-class citizens of Lanborg.
During the ruling of Ari II, the dish was officially renamed to "Surbraten" in Altsprech, which is now banned. The dish was renamed to Ouskal officially with the establishment of the UC at 0Ð.

Kúrtarnir (Zucchini Towers)
Kúrtarnir are yellow zucchini filled with a meat mixture depending on different regional varieties. They can range from a side dish consisting of 2-3 pieces to a full dish, consisting of ~10 pieces. The dish is eaten with a fork and knife.
As the dish contains a large percentage of meat, the Zucchini is only meant for structural integrity of the dish and not as a taste additive. Therefore, Kúrtarnir has been called "one of the worst of Lanborgian cuisine", with "uncreative flavours". This caused it to be a relevant topic in Lanborgian pop-culture, with big artists like TRULAUS pairing the dish with different negative emotions.
Even though it is not favoured by many Lanborgians, it remains a historic piece of culture, as the dish only became popular by Ari II's dictatorship and the government system.
The dish can be found in mostly in bigger Lanborgian restaurants, as they have the correct amount of guests to make a rarely-liked dish.

Desserts
Melon foods
Melon-related foods are also a vital part of Lanborgian cuisine and identity, a whole square was erected for them too (see Melon Square). They come in many different varieties, including melon popsicles, golden melons, melon juice and various cocktails. They are best enjoyed during the warm summers of Lanborg on the Melon Square, which has a reputation for being the best spot for fresh melons in the city, as they were historically imported into this market.
